The overall objective of the GreenTour project is to promote social inclusion and better access for people with disabilities to existing green tourism opportunities and to promote environmental sustainability in the tourism industry.

The development of an interactive map to enable people with disabilities to plan and enjoy eco-tourism trips in a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way, and to explore all the eco-tourism offers that the countries participating in the project can provide.
Motivate
people with disabilities to lead an active life, engage in tourism and become real agents of environmental change through the development and implementation of new and specific pedagogical approaches.
Raise awareness
people about the need to take into account the environmental impact of tourist travel and to make environmentally friendly choices during travel arrangements.
Encourage
tourism service providers to create an inclusive environment for people with disabilities and to include in their portfolio more sustainable offers for their customers.
Support
the two target groups in using the available digital technologies for their benefit and making the most of them when exploring the possibilities of green tourism.
What is to be achieved by the implementation of the project?
Sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism has recently moved to the top of the European development agenda, as numerous research reports have noted the increasing demand for accessibility, especially to meet the needs of people with disabilities.
Even in some well-equipped countries, tourist destinations, attractions and leisure opportunities are often inaccessible and the share of such facilities remains inadequate.
Managers of tourism service providers tend to be unaware of the access needs of customers with disabilities and do not have sufficient knowledge to develop and implement innovative and sustainable solutions, which could help to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the accessible tourism market.
